Heritage Capital Group Welcomes William Skinner as Principal

Heritage Capital Group is pleased to announce that William (Bill) Skinner has joined the firm as a principal.   Bill’s primary focus will be advising clients on merger and acquisition transactions as well as financial and strategic advisory services in all industries with a focus in aerospace. Bill has over 33 years of financial management and leadership both in public accounting as well as the aerospace industry.

He has served in multiple financial leadership capacities, most recently as Vice President – Financial Planning & Treasurer, and, previously, Corporate Controller for Gulfstream Aerospace, a leader in the business-jet industry and a subsidiary of General Dynamics Corporation (NYSE: GD). Over his career, Bill was actively involved in numerous M&A transactions, both in the aerospace industry and while working previously with Deloitte LLP.

“With over 30 years of financial and accounting experience, I was looking for a way to leverage my broad financial experience from both public accounting and corporate finance to allow me to assist smaller market companies in their exit or growth strategies. After being introduced to Don Wiggins, and other principals at Heritage Capital Group, and learning their wide range of capabilities in the mid-market M&A space, I was fortunate when they asked me to join their team in Savannah.”

“We are delighted that Bill has joined the Savannah team,” said Don Wiggins, president of Heritage Capital Group. “His extensive experience and in-depth knowledge of the aerospace industry are a perfect fit as we expand our presence in Georgia and the Carolinas, and in the aerospace and defense arena. Bill’s expertise will complement our existing team with his decades spent in financial leadership positions and in M&A transactions in the aerospace industry.”

Bill is a longtime Savannah resident and committed to his community where he has also served in leadership positions for various professional and civic organizations, including the boards of the Telfair Museums, the Savannah Chamber of Commerce, and the Savannah Country Day School.  He is a certified public accountant and received his B.B.A from the Culverhouse School of Accountancy at The University of Alabama.
