Heritage Capital Group Welcomes Remer Y. Lane III
Heritage Capital Group is pleased to announce that Remer Y. Lane, III has joined the firm as a principal. Remer’s primary focus is merger and acquisition transactions, as well as financial and strategic advisory services in all industries, with a focus in food and agriculture. Remer has 35 years of leadership and management experience in trade, economic growth, food and agriculture, industrial manufacturing, and petrochemicals. He has worked in the US and in over 80 countries around the world.
Remer’s US portfolio includes agribusiness work with Savannah Foods & Industries, McKeany-Flavell Commodities, and Louis Dreyfus Commodities, as well as consulting and analytical work for departments and agencies within the US government. As the general manager and chief financial officer for Navigator Gas Management (Isle of Man), he led construction of five petrochemical tankers in China, ship operations, and trading.
He spent eight years with Booz Allen Hamilton planning and implementing projects for the US foreign governments and private industry in southeastern Europe, EU, Russia-CIS, north and sub-Saharan Africa, the Middle East, and southeast Asia. He was assigned to work with over 2,000 agricultural, apparel, tourism, information technology, pharmaceutical, furniture, and construction companies to assist them in their business organization, financial needs, production, processing, packaging, marketing, foreign market access, sales, distribution networks, and customer service. He has organized participation in more than 200 trade shows in the US, France, Germany, UK, Netherlands, Russia, UAE, Japan, Malaysia, and Serbia.
Remer has prepared trade and investment strategies for Serbia, Egypt, Morocco, Kenya, Georgia, Kosovo, Laos, Mozambique, Tajikistan, and Tanzania. His agribusiness work is credited with helping to increase export sales from Serbia, Egypt, and Morocco by more than $2.5 Billion.
In 2011, he launched Fingalee LLC to further his work in foreign affairs and trade advisory for private companies, the US government, and developing countries. In 2016-17, he spent six months in the Philippines on behalf of the USDA restructuring an agriculture and cold-chain program. In 2018, he provided trade analysis and trade facilitation for the US Department of Commerce in Eastern Europe, Russia, and Central Asia. Most recently, he returned from seven months in Tanzania for US government interests, and launched four businesses in agriculture, livestock, and mining.
He was a founding board member of the Port Royal Sound Foundation in South Carolina and remains active in protecting the unique ecosystems of the Port Royal and Calibogue Sound.

A native of Savannah, Georgia, Remer attended and was an athlete at the University of Georgia. He is married to Vesna Lane with whom he shares five children.
